A Mountain Guide with a variety of
guiding experiences under his belt, Kevin Slotterbeck has guided mostly in Latin America and
Europe;
including Ecuador (Chimborazo, Cotopaxi), Argentina (Aconcagua), Mexico, and
expeditions to Mt. Elbrus (Russia), and Mt. Vinson in Antarctica. His own climbing experiences have also taken him to up Mt. McKinley, Mt. Foraker
(Sultana Ridge & the SE Ridge: Alaska), and Mt. Logan in the Yukon. Kevin has also
guided on Mt.
Rainier for Rainier Mountaineering Inc. (RMI), and has 32+ ascents of "The
Mountain" by a variety of routes.
Kevin is also designs and manufacturers outdoor related equipment
through his company, Research Design & Manufacturing (RDM LLC). He is
also a part-time engineer for Seattle Manufacturing Company (SMC), which
produces climbing hardware and rescue equipment such as ice axes, crampons and carabiners.
Kevin often uses Mountain Experience guides as product reviewers for new designs that he's
designed in his shop..
Kevin is a super friendly guide
who quickly bonds to our groups, and many people find his positive guiding spirit to be a
driving force in their success.
During his "off time," Kevin snowboards on the local
Washington volcanoes, rock climbs and hikes.
