These multicolored maps provide astronaut-view perspectives of the scenic and geologically fascinating areas of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Overprinted information includes names of topographic features (mountain ranges and peaks, valleys and parklands), hydrographic features (streams and rivers, lakes and reservoirs, marine waters and embayments, and glaciers where pertinent), cultural features including county and state boundaries, cities and towns, capitals and county seats, Indian reservations, roads and highways, airports and airfields, museums, fish hatcheries and state parks, and boundaries of counties, states, national parks, and wilderness and recreational areas. Natural-color shaded relief gives the impression of viewing the landforms from high above the Earth-truly an "astronaut's view."  The maps include bordering watercolors of selected views and texts that describe the geologic settings and other features of the areas.
