Training Overview

Most of our Mountain Experience trips require participants to be in good health and be aerobically fit. The fitness requirements vary from trip to trip, and specific information on each adventure can be found at the bottom of individual trip descriptions.

Hiking is a great way to get in shape!Confirmed members on our trips will receive a handout on training tips, that will give participants some training ideas that could be very helpful with their training efforts. Generally speaking, participants should engage in activities that consistently increases their heart and breathing rates 3 to 6 times per week, for 30-60 minutes each time. Suggested activities and weekly training amounts will vary for each trip. Our more advanced trips may also require some upper body strength and a corresponding regular training schedule.

As a service to all of our clients, Mountain Experience offers "coaching" to our participants, to help them develop their own training program.

For those who would like help developing a complete training approach, we offer our Training Assistant Option. During this program we work closely with the participant, and develop a custom tailored program to meet each individual’s training needs and fitness goals. When developing specific training programs, we work closely with local certified fitness experts, and combined with our own training experience and expertise in the mountains, it assures you have the most up to date and relevant training program available.
