A Fantastic Andean Trekking Experience!
Trip Overview
This is a super 21 day trekking
adventure, with options for ascents of two 5,000 meter peak climbs,
spectacular photos, and more!
Our
2004 trip will be conducted as a "private expedition," and currently
the trip is filled with four experienced trekkers.
In years past, our Peruvian
treks have included the Cordillera Blanca area, and Machu Picchu.
Our Peruvian expeditions
have successfully climbed Huascaran, Nevado Alpamayo, Toqllaraju, Nevado Ishinca, Ishinca Chico and Nevado
Urus.
Our
four experienced trekkers are looking forward

Background
Requirements
FOR TREKKING ASPECTS OF
THIS TRIP:
Fitness: Most of the trek days typically
require around 4-8 hours of effort, and most of our gear will be carried by mules during
the trek. Because of the trekking portion of this trip, we recommend all participants be
in a physical training program for several months prior to trip departure for
maximum trip enjoyment. Check our Training
Overview for more information and training tips.
Experience: Participants should have
some day hiking experience, and overnight backpacking or trekking experience is helpful.
High altitude experience is also beneficial, but not required.
FOR 'OPTIONAL CLIMBING'
ASPECTS OF THIS TRIP
(2-3 optional summit days for 5,000 meter
peaks):
Fitness: Most of
the climb days is typically require around 4-10 hours of
effort, but some days can be as long as 14-16 hours at high
altitude on our summit attempts. Because of this, we recommend all
participants be in a rigorous physical training program for
several months prior to trip departure. Check our Training
Overview for more information and training tips.
Experience:
Participants should have completed a basic mountaineering course
and have experience using crampons and ice axe. High altitude experience is
not required for
this program.
